Project description
The Motion design brief was to design and animate a title sequence, I chose "ratched" by Ryan Murphy. I am most inspired by murphy's exceptional style OF creative storytelling and his NOTABLity in introducing underrepresented characters to the mainstream media. he is one of the most substantial figures within the modern media industry TO DATE. THUS being greatly inspired by Ryan Murphy's work, I AIMED to create a title sequence that would represent his creative direction...
I created digital paintings, illustrations and photo collages to flow throughout WHILE INCORPORATING INK COMPOSITE TRANSITIONS, DUST AND SCRATCHES OVERLAYS AND GREEN SCREEN TRADITIONAL MEDIA COMPOSITES. I combined my style frames in which I used digital paintings, illustrations and photo collages WHILE usING enticing phrases and text transitions to allure the viewer into the theme and narrative of the series. This was HONESTLY a lot of FUN and couldn't wait to PROGRESS AND LEARN MORE!

PROCESS
what I learned through the process...
I integrated my approach with various transitions such as Auto Colour, Curves, Dust & Scratches overlays, fade In & Out, Keylight, Ink composite transitions with luna inverted, text Stroke, Transform and Wiggle-position. I interestingly learnt that title sequences and openings are truly the most crucial portion of a film or series. I learned that it's the title sequence's responsibility, to set the tone, mood and characters for the audience. I discovered if I did this effectively I would be able to direct the viewers to the desired narrative.
I paid close attention to Ratched's design and graphical style, ensuring that the colours, mood, characters, tones and settings fit the overall atmospheric qualities of the series. Further learning how the design of the opening sequence is closely tied to what you are about to watch, the design elements utilized were given passionate attention to detail so that they effectively make a captivating impact on the audience.
